Arizona Water Protection Fund FY 2019 Grant Cycle

The Arizona Water Protection Fund Commission is pleased to announce that it will be offering a fiscal year 2019 grant cycle.  AWPF promotes the use of incentives emphasizing local implementation to address resource concerns. As such, the Commission’s philosophy has been to use a grassroots approach to improve river and riparian resources statewide.

The Commission funds projects that directly maintain, enhance, or restore river and riparian resources; implement measures to increase water availability; implement innovative river or riparian research; and implement water conservation measures or programs outside of the five AMAs.

The fiscal year 2019 grant application manual is available on the AWPF web site www.azwpf.gov and will be available at the grant application workshop.  To have a copy mailed to you, please contact Reuben Teran at 602-771-8525, or via e-mail at rteran@azwater.gov.

A grant application workshop (with a live webinar option) will be held at the ADWR office in Phoenix on August 10.  Please RSVP to rteran@azwater.gov if you plan to attend in person or participate online.  The workshop will be canceled if at least five people have not confirmed their attendance within 2 business days prior to the scheduled date.  If the workshop is canceled, notices will be sent via e-mail to those who have registered.

Pre-application consultations may be scheduled with AWPF staff through August, as time permits.  Please contact Reuben Teran at 602-771-8525, or via e-mail rteran@azwater.gov to schedule a consultation.

Grant applications are due no later than September 7 by 3:00 p.m.  Applicant presentations and Commission grant award selections will take place November 6–9.  The complete grant application process schedule can be viewed at www.azwpf.gov.
