Stakeholder Input Sought for Lakes Powell, Mead Operational Guidelines

The current guidelines for managing Lakes Powell and Mead will expire at the end of 2026. These guidelines contain important reservoir and water management decisional documents and agreements that govern operation of Colorado River facilities and management of Colorado River water. The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation is updating these guidelines, a process that involves preparing an environmental impact statement (EIS).

To provide information and solicit input, Reclamation is hosting a series of public meetings, which will be held via Zoom on July 17, 18, and 24. To learn more, visit Reclamation’s notice in the Federal Register:
