Plenary Session

We’ve got an exciting plenary session planned! This year, AHS is bringing together individuals from competing entities — the state, municipalities, agriculture, and the environment — for what promises to be an educational and spirited panel discussion on how to share the dwindling Lower Colorado River within and outside of Arizona’s borders. Thomas Buschatzke, Director of ADWR, will serve as moderator. Panelists include Carol Ward-Morris, Assistant Director of the Arizona Municipal Water Users Association (municipalities); Mark Smith, Owner, Smith Farms, Yuma and President, Yuma Irrigation District (agriculture); Kevin Moran, Senior Director, Environmental Defense Fund’s Ecosystems’ Water Program where he leads EDF’s work in the Colorado River Basin and the West (the environment); and Diane Joens, Mayor of Cottonwood (municipalities).
