The Tucson Chapter recently selected its 2018 Halpenny Intern, Tiffani Cañez.
Tiffani is a UA senior seeking a B.S. in environmental hydrology and water resources, and she is currently enrolled in the Accelerated Master of Science in Hydrology and Water Resources program. She was selected based on her enthusiasm for hydrology, work ethic, excellent communication skills, and academic record. Tiffani has previously conducted research with Dr. Jennifer McIntosh on two UA projects and served as a hydrology consultant for the Solar River Project for a UA College of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape Architecture class. She received the Arizona Excellence Award, was a UA College of Science Galileo Circle Scholar, and has interned for UA Women in Science and Engineering’s Bio/Diversity Project. Tiffani hopes to use the Halpenny internship experience to help identify which area of hydrology she would like to pursue — and to become a more well-rounded hydrologist.
