On May 22, the Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) announced with much fanfare that they had received a letter from the three Lower Basin states of Arizona, California, and Nevada. The letter proposed the addition of another alternative action to the draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) meant to address the declining water-level elevations in Lakes Powell and Mead. All seven Colorado River Basin states signed a separate, supporting letter that also requested suspension of the May 30 comments deadline.
