For over three decades, ADEQ has implemented a variety of programs and funded grants to monitor, protect, and improve the quality of Arizona’s surface waters. To enhance these efforts, ADEQ established Arizona Water Watch. Anyone ages 10 through retirement is encouraged to volunteer in the Citizen Science Water Monitoring Program and help ADEQ protect our water for future generations. Volunteers receive training, help design a study for a waterway, collect water samples from streams or lakes, help scientists find pollution sources, and monitor restoration projects. Becoming a Citizen Science volunteer takes just five steps. To learn more, visit ADEQ’s web site.
