Each year the Tucson Chapter and the AHS Foundation participate in the Southern Arizona Regional Science and Engineering Fair (SARSEF) as sponsored award judges, giving $25 to $50 checks for hydrology science projects to grades K–12. These monetary awards are generously provided by AHS, AHSF, and the Central Arizona Project (CAP).
The event is held at the Tucson Convention Center. Three volunteers are needed to judge the morning of Thursday, March 7, 2019. You will have the opportunity to choose a grade group (K–2, 3–5, 6–8, 9–12).
SARSEF will provide the judges with breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and a half-hour orientation. Judging begins at 8:00 a.m., and AHS volunteers will conclude their judging activities by 11:30 a.m. that day. You will also be treated to a box lunch by SARSEF at 11:30 a.m.
If you are available the morning of March 7 and are interested in participating in this fun and beneficial event to encourage future budding hydrologists, please contact Mike Block to be registered!
