The Tucson chapter has selected this year’s Halpenny Intern Scholar: Natalie Yurek.
Natalie is a rising junior in the UA’s Hydrology and Atmospheric Science (HAS) program. She is interested in exploring the interplay between Earth, atmosphere, and water systems by studying weather forecasting as well as water conservation and sustainability. Her passion in these fields comes from her adventures as an advanced scuba diver and a private pilot.
In addition to these accomplishments, Natalie is a full-time student with a 3.8 GPA and a member of the HAS Students’ Association. She is grateful for this opportunity to further explore the important connections between the atmosphere and the field of hydrology.
Congratulations, Natalie — we wish you success as you complete your work as an intern scholar.
