The Tucson Chapter of AHS is proud to announce Rachel S. Tucci as the 2015 Leonard Halpenny Intern Scholar.
Rachel is a graduating senior in the Hydrology & Water Resources Department at the University of Arizona. She impressed the selection committee with her academic achievements, organizational abilities, and future career objectives. Her senior thesis work using isotopes to analyze the source and relative age of recharge to groundwater in Davidson Canyon, as well as her experience working with the Western Adaption Alliance, demonstrate her commitment to the field of hydrology. That commitment and her work ethic make her an ideal candidate for the internship.
Rachel will have until the end of the year to complete 200 hours of internship at this year’s participating companies: the USGS Water Resources Division, Tucson Water, and the environmental consulting agencies Montgomery & Associates and Clear Creek Associates. She has the unique and beneficial opportunity to get hands-on experience doing the kind of work she can expect upon graduation. She will also make valuable contacts with water resources professionals in Tucson and with members of AHS.
Congratulations Rachel, and thank you to all of our 2015 participating companies!
