Tribute to Flagstaff Area Well Drillers & Scientists

March 11, 5:30–7:30 PM, at the Gopher Hole Pub, 23 N. Leroux St.

In recognition of National Groundwater Awareness Week, Flagstaff Water Services and the Flagstaff Chapter of AHS present a tribute to Flagstaff area well drillers and scientists. Flagstaff and surrounding communities would not be what they are today if it weren’t for drillers and scientists who risk their reputations in pursuit of reliable community water supplies. Join us for an educational evening on the successes and perils of developing groundwater from the C aquifer, as told by:

  • Don Bills, retired USGS hydrologist and lead author of publications on the regional aquifer below Flagstaff and surrounding areas
  • Dr. Errol Montgomery, retired hydrologist and consultant to City on Lake Mary Wellfield development and sustainability
  • Klaudia Ness, Manager, Bellemont Water Company
  • Don Perry, retired City water production maintenance supervisor and fourth-generation well driller
  • Gary Small, hydrologist and consultant on the City’s largest (1,200 gpm) production well
