The Agua Dulce Homeowners Association is located in the Tucson Mountains — 6 miles northwest of the city center. In 2013, the HOA contracted Watershed Management Group to help offset recurring stormwater damage to common-area walking paths. From this effort, a small group of volunteers formed a Water Harvesting and Erosion Control Committee with the goal of putting stormwater to beneficial use. Over time, it developed strategies for engaging the HOA Board on matters ranging from water conservation to landscaping in common areas. Hans Huth will share examples of volunteer efforts, data collection activities, water savings, and chronic challenges.
