Erin Young, Flagstaff chapter secretary, reports this about the Saturday field trip that was offered as part of the 2023 AHS Symposium:
The Saturday field trip could not have had better weather and was filled with smiles. We had 16 attendees for Abe Springer’s morning trip to Hoxworth Spring. After a joyous winter season, intermittent flow was occurring much further downstream than typical, with water ponded in far more places than typical. The native grasses, critters, wetlands, and flowers were spectacular and the hike relaxing. We had 10 attend the afternoon trip to hear a number of mysteries of Montezuma Well revealed by Larry Stevens. Getting to know one another in such a spectacular location was truly lovely.
