Meet the Candidates: Central Arizona Water Conservation District Board of Directors

September 30 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

The Central Arizona Project (CAP) delivers water to Maricopa, Pinal, and Pima counties, serving more than 5 million people, or more than 80% of the state’s population. The Central Arizona Water Conservation District Board (CAWCD) Board of Directors serves as the governing body for the CAP. Consisting of an elected 15 members, the board includes 10 members from Maricopa County, 4 from Pima County, and 1 from Pinal County. Members serve 6-year, unpaid terms. The board typically meets publicly the first Thursday of each month to establish policy and set rates and taxes for the CAP.
This webinar will introduce the CAWCD candidates for Maricopa County, where five seats are up for election. It will begin with an overview of CAP and the roles and responsibilities of the Board. Gary Grado, executive editor of the Arizona Capitol Times, will introduce the candidates and lead a Q&A, time permitting. All candidates on the ballot have been invited by the Citizens Clean Elections Commission. Each candidate who attends will be given 5 minutes to introduce themselves and provide their insights to the audience. There will be no debate or town hall-style questions. The chat function will be disabled during the webinar, which will be recorded for future viewing.
