We’re happy to announce our 2020–2021 academic scholarship winners:
- Ammon F Cadogan, MS, UA, Civil Engineering, emphasis: Hydraulics and Water Resource Engineering
- Abigail Kahler, B.S., UA, Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences
- Graham Kilduff, MS, UA, Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences
Each winner will receive a $2000 cash award, funded in equal parts by AHS and the AHS Foundation.
The winners were selected from among 8 complete applications. This year, the selection committee consisted of four members — Aregai Tecle, Howard Grahn, Mike Block, and Dennis Hall — who reported that choosing the winners was challenging because so many of the applications were of very high quality.
Each year, AHS/AHSF awards up to three scholarships to encourage full-time students at an Arizona university or college to excel in their area of study. Applicants are selected based on their GPA; letters of recommendation; interests, career goals, and background in hydrology and water resources; and need.
The scholarship will be awarded during Biennial Symposium on Managed Aquifer Recharge (BSMAR17) and Southwest Extreme Precipitation Symposium (SWEPSYM) virtual conference, October 5-9.
