Dear AHS Members and Interested Public,
The Arizona Municipal Water Users Association, Arizona State University’s Kyl Center for Water Policy, and the Arizona Hydrological Society (AHS) conducted a survey of candidates for the Central Arizona Water Conservation District Board of Directors. Our objective was to produce a nonpartisan, unedited voter education guide to help inform voters about the 14 candidates running for five positions on the CAWCD Board. The guide contains only the candidates’ responses to this questionnaire. It does not include any endorsements.

Why are we doing this? The Central Arizona Project (CAP) is a critical infrastructure that provides an important water supply to Central and Southern Arizona. Most voters are unaware of the Central Arizona Water Conservation District and its important responsibilities. This is our effort to increase awareness about one of the least known elections on the ballot that is one of the most important ones regarding Arizona’s water future.
Sincerely,
