We’re now accepting abstracts for our 32nd Annual Symposium, a premier event in the Southwest for hydrology and water resources research, management, and public policy. This year’s Symposium will be held September 25–27 at the Casino Del Sol Resort in Tucson.
Potential Topics for Tech Sessions and Posters
We’ve started a list of potential topics — but we urge you to submit abstracts on most any topic, particularly those that address recent advances and/or unique or new approaches to solving water resources problems. Abstracts that promote products or services will not be accepted; however, case studies are encouraged.
- Modeling (groundwater, surface water; application of GIS tools to hydrology)
- Recharge and recovery
- Watershed / basin management studies (watershed and riparian restoration; land subsidence / overdraft; groundwater management issues outside of AMAs)
- Remediation / environmental (WQARF/CERCLA; water quality issues — PFAS, emerging contaminants, and management strategies in the absence of standards; regulatory permitting challenges and solutions)
- Drought planning / climate change (effects of climate change on water availability, Colorado River water issues and drought contingency planning)
- Mining hydrology (mine dewatering and supply)
- Wells (design, rehab, drilling methods)
- Water rights and policy (water law, conflict and resolution)
- Geophysics (application of geophysical tools to hydrology)
- Other (surface and groundwater supply monitoring; agricultural water efficiencies; etc.)
