The AHS Corporate Board met by Zoom on April 16th. The meeting highlights were:
- The Corporate Treasurer presented the 1st Quarter 2022 Corporate Financials. As of March 31st, the Society investments are slightly negative by $3,032 from 1st quarter volatility. Expenses exceeded income in the 1st quarter as expected until symposium income occurs in the 3rd quarter.
- The Board approved AHSF’s request for AHS to provide quarterly disbursements in matching funds in relation to their 2022 fundraising efforts.
- An update on the 2022 symposium planning was given by the Co-Chairs. The Call for Abstracts ended on April 8th resulting in 45 talk abstracts and 10 posters received.

- The Flagstaff Chapter reported on the registration and preparations for the North Rim Field Camp.
- The Board discussed the possible use of a $750 donation from Hawkke which will be decided at the July meeting.
- The Board approved a request from Geosciences Support Systems to use the AHS logo as an AHS Corporate Member. A similar request was approved for Matrix New World Engineering if they become an AHS Corporate Member.
- A discussion occurred on the management of this year’s Intern Scholarship Program and issues needing to be addressed for any future program expansion.
- The Board decided to see if T-shirts and hats could be made for sale prior to the 2022 Symposium.
- The July meeting will be held in-person in Flagstaff and with the option to join by Zoom. Date to TBD.
