If you have a morning available, consider in participating in a fun, beneficial event to encourage budding hydrologists!
Each year, the Tucson Chapter participates in the Southern Regional Science & Engineering Fair (SARSEF) by being a special awards donor — we give $25 to $150 checks for hydrology science projects to grades K-12. The event is held at the Tucson Convention Center.
We need two volunteers to judge on the morning of Thursday, March 30, for your choice of grade groups (K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12).
SARSEF provides breakfast at 7:30 a.m., along with a half-hour orientation. Judging begins at 8:00 a.m. and AHS volunteers will finish by 11:30 a.m. You will also be treated to a box lunch at 11:30 a.m.
Visit www.sarsef.org to sign up online. Be sure to enter “Arizona Hydrological Society” as the organization that you are representing and check the box labeled “Special Judge for Organization indicated above.” You will not have to specify a grade category. Once you sign up, please e-mail a copy of your confirmation to Marla Odom.
