The Flagstaff Chapter has awarded its 2022 Avery Scholarship to Matthew Sprague, a Sophomore at NAU. Matthew’s interests are in the realm of natural stream channel process, impacts on stream channels by humans and wildfires, and remediation actions to mitigation impacts.
Mathew will be hosted by Natural Channel Design, the City of Flagstaff Water Services and Stormwater Departments, and possibly the USGS. Matthew also has an internship with CSIL that ends in June and will be working with Kegin Donovon at NAU on research on the Verde River and its tributaries.
