The Flagstaff Chapter is hosting an all-day field trip on Saturday, August 6, to the middle Sycamore Creek watershed, located to the southeast of Williams, to observe and learn more about 4FRI’s paired watershed experiment taking place there. We also hope to get to see some unique water features of this northwestern part of the Mogollon Rim — including Big Spring, Sycamore Falls, and some interesting riparian habitat.
- 8:30 AM to about 4:00PM.
- 8:00 to 8:30 or so: No host coffee, tea, etc. at Café 326, 326 West Route 66, Williams
About 8:30 or so, settle car pool. - We will be carpooling from Williams to sites and returning to Williams; dirt roads are two-wheel-drive passable, but muddy and slick when wet.
- No-host drinks and dinner at Cruiser’s Route 66 Café, 233 Historic Route 66, Williams after the field trip (4:00-4:30 or so)
- Fee is $15 per person, AHS member / $20 per person, non-members and covers the cost of a box lunch, drinks, snacks, and small donation to the Avery Intern Scholarship Program. Students can attend for free.
