Arizona Tribal Water Rights: How Did We Get Here?
February 5 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Webinar: The Verde River is a crucial water source for Yavapai County and the Phoenix area. For over 50 years, the Yavapai-Apache Nation (the Nation) has been engaged in legal and political battles to secure its water rights. In June 2024, the Nation unanimously approved the Yavapai-Apache Nation Water Rights Settlement Agreement, marking a historic milestone for the Nation and its members. If affirmed by Congress, the agreement will end the Nation’s decades-long fight for water access and support sustainable water management in the Verde Valley.
