This year’s conference is organized in collaboration with the Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR). The Colorado River Basin faces a large and growing gap between water supply and demand. In Arizona, water demand exceeds renewable supplies by a margin that is estimated to grow to 1 million acre-feet by 2060. The conference will explore a range of options to balance the scales of water supply and demand in Arizona. Be a part of this important conversation — join us for a day of informative presentations, lively discussions and a special poster session that will include a celebration of the WRRC’s 50th anniversary.

The program includes keynote speakers Sandra Fabritz-Whitney (Director, ADWR) and Kay Brothers (Co-Chair, Colorado River Basin Study Next Steps Working Groups Coordination Team). We are also pleased to announce that Senator Jon Kyl has agreed to provide informal comments at the conference luncheon. The conference will close with a panel discussion and Q&A session led by WRRC Director Sharon B. Megdal on, “Closing the Gap: How can we do it?”

Don’t forget – Poster Abstract Submission Deadline is Monday, Feb. 3, 2014

The WRRC is accepting abstracts for the poster session at its 2014 Annual Conference. Interested students, researchers and practitioners are welcome to submit a poster abstract.
