The Tucson Chapter is pleased to announce that it has selected the 2022 Leonard Halpenny Intern Scholar, Marleigh Nicholas. She is the 25th Halpenny intern Scholar since the program began in 1996!
Marleigh is a sophomore at the U of A who is majoring in Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences. She is a student member of AHS and OSHA certified. While in high school, she learned how to take flow measurements and analyze water quality samples. Marleigh is excited that she will have the opportunity to learn more about the hydrology field through firsthand experience. She plans to enroll in the Accelerated Master’s Program in Hydrology in Fall of 2024, which allows her to take both undergraduate and graduate courses simultaneously during her senior year. She has a 3.6 GPA.
This year’s participating host organizations include Tucson Water, Metro Water District, the USGS, and NV5.
