The Phoenix Chapter Selects 2021 AHS Undergraduate Mentor Scholarship Recipient

The Phoenix Chapter of the Arizona Hydrological Society (AHS) is pleased to announce Hannah Dragon as the winner of the 2021 Undergraduate Mentor Scholarship! Hannah is a junior pursuing her B.S. in Geological Sciences with a certificate in Elementary Education at ASU. Hannah applied to the mentorship program with a desire to immerse herself in the hydrological profession through the networking and learning opportunities that this program offers.

The committee selected Hannah because her enthusiasm for learning was apparent in her application and interview, and she came with strong recommendations from ASU faculty.

A native of Tempe, Arizona, Hannah is looking forward to a career in the geosciences, specifically in working with Arizona’s water issues. As part of the AHS mentorship program, she will attend a minimum of four water-related meetings and prepare a summary of those meetings in collaboration with a mentor. She is also registered for the 40-hour HAZWOPER training at the ASU Polytechnic Campus. At the end of the summer, she will submit a short article to the AHS monthly newsletter describing the mentorship experience, her school experience in 2021, and how COVID-19 affected her school year.

We wish Hannah a wonderful summer experience, and we thank all AHS and community members for their support of this terrific program!
