In 2020, the AHS corporate board recognized Michel Hulst as someone who contributed outstanding volunteer service to AHS.
Past recipients have included Leilani Bew (2006), Paul Lindberg (2018), and Marla Odom (2019).
The Board decided at its November 2020 meeting to continue this volunteer recognition program as an annual event to recognize outstanding AHS members. Any AHS member is welcome to nominate someone who has contributed significant volunteer time and service to AHS in one or more of four categories:
- Past symposia
- Corporate board
- Chapter officer
- AHS scholarship programs
- Additional considerations such as AHS newsletter contributions, workshop and field trip participation, etc.
The award consists of a personal recognition plaque that will be presented at the annual symposium. Winners also receive a free lunch for themselves and a guest at the 2021 AHS Symposium Awards Luncheon, which is always held on Friday.

Please submit the name of the person you believe deserves the AHS Outstanding Service Award by February 28, 2021.
Download and complete the nomination form by June 30, 2021 that details your nominee’s service to AHS.
To nominate, you must be a current AHS member. The AHS corporate board will review the nominations and select an awardee for presentation at the 2021 AHS Annual Symposium on Friday, September 17, 2021.
