Governor Hobbs’ Water Policy Council has the goal of coming up with actionable concepts to address water issues before the end of the year. Two major committees carry much of the discussion workload: the Assured Water Supply Committee and the Rural Groundwater Committee. The Assured Water Supply Committee has been looking at a number of proposals to make the Assured Water Supply (AWS) program more effective through streamlining processes, exploring alternatives, and closing loopholes.
