BSMAR19 Conference

March 31 - April 2

This event continues a longstanding series of symposia originating in Arizona in 1978 and rotating every two years between Arizona and California. Past conferences have included talks on integrated water management, groundwater governance, regulation and management, economics, water quality, operational matters, monitoring and modeling, water reclamation technologies for MAR, alternative recharge systems, adaptation to climate change, MAR and land subsidence, and aquifer thermal energy storage.

The Nineteenth Biennial Symposium on Managed Aquifer Recharge, Building Resiliency with MAR: Convey, Store and Deliver, will take place March 31 – April 2, 2026, at the DoubleTree Hotel in Sacramento, CA.

Join us for two full days of presentations, workshops, and poster sessions by leading MAR experts — including technical specialists, regulators, managers, and operators — plus exhibitor and networking opportunities, followed by an optional half-day field trip on April 2.

  • Engage with a community of groundwater experts and water resource professionals.
  • Learn through technical presentations, panel sessions, and best-practice case studies.
  • Discover new avenues for field-based tours, workshops, and networking opportunities.
