March for Science Southern Arizona is dedicated to preserving and expanding the critical role of science and evidence through community outreach and nonpartisan political advocacy. The nonprofit is continuing its successful “Brains & Brews” science trivia and speaker series event and is lining up speakers for 2019–2020. Brains & Brews takes place at the Sky Bar (536 N 4th Ave in Tucson) Thursday nights starting at 6:30 PM and features a lecture (30–45 minutes) followed by a science trivia event.
If you are interested in exploring new ways of public outreach, including dispelling scientific misconceptions and falsehoods or providing insight into the scientific work being done in southern Arizona, this is a great opportunity. MSSA is interested in speakers, including science educators, professionals from industry and government, academic researchers, graduate students, K-12 teachers and staff, and members of nonprofit organizations.
If you’d like to be a guest speaker, contact Henry Werchan (520-205-1560) with a short description of what you’d like to present and how you would engage the audience. He can then provide further details and answer any questions you may have.
