This year’s Joint Holiday Mixer was a real success on many fronts. Now in its 8th year, this event brings together professionals from various environmental groups. This year, we had attendees from AHS, EPAZ (Environmental Professionals of Arizona), and the Air & Waste Management Association, as well as some affiliates. Although I have only experienced the last 4 years of this event, the Joint Holiday Mixer was graced by a cohort of younger scientists who are quite impressive and have the potential to add much to our professional groups. This refreshing change is leading to new connections and affiliations!
The holiday season spirit made an appearance and once again our charitable collection efforts have contributed to the well-being of others in greater need. Thanks to our sponsors, for contributing to the raffle prizes, to all those who donated, and to Emily Vanaskey (our Phoenix chapter president) for having the patience to deal with the constant chatter while she was reading raffle numbers.
We hope to see you all at our monthly meetings — and let’s not forget to mark this one on the calendar for next year.
