Recap of Tap to Top: Restoring Arizona’s Forests

On July 21, approximately 40 members turned out for a beertasting event at the SanTan Brewing Company to find out why healthy forests are important to a reliable, high-quality water supply for the greater Phoenix area. Spencer Plumb with National Forest Foundation (NAFF) discussed many of his groups’ restoration projects in the Salt and Verde Watershed with a viewing of the Tap to Top video. Stephen Flora and Rebecca Davidson presented on the history of SRP’s water supply, the importance of a healthy watershed to ensure a resilient and sustainable water supply, and SRP’s monitoring efforts in the watershed, with a viewing of Protecting the Source: The Collaborative Road to Restoring Arizona’s Forests.

The event was aimed to bring awareness to NAFF projects and the forest conditions impacting the water supply of the Phoenix Metro area. AHS plans to donate proceeds from the event to NAFF. Visit the NAFF website for more information on projects and donations.
