The next Corporate Board meeting will take place in Phoenix on
January 24th from 10 AM—2 PM.
Any AHS member is welcome to attend.
Agenda items will include:
 Election of 2009 Corporate Board officers
Discussion of Annual Budget for 2009
Discussion of 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award process
Joint discussion with AHS Foundation Board members of
future fund-raising for AHS Foundation and AHS
Reports from Standing Committees (Website, Scholarships, etc)
Planning for 2009 Annual Symposium
Planning for 2010 Annual Symposium

AHS Business Information
The Society welcomes Nick Melcher as
our new Executive Director, replacing Jeanie
Merideth as of the end of June. Nick is a Corporate
Board representative from Tucson, and
recently retired from the U.S. Geological Survey
where he served for many years as Director of
the Water Science Center. Nick is well known
by many of our members, and he will be calling
on his contacts in his new role of enhancing our
Society. Nick will breathe a new technical
freshness into the Newsletter over the coming
months, and I think we are lucky to have him.
